A Decade of Creativity: The Coal Stitchbook Rewind
Ten years ago, a unique collaboration blossomed in the heart of Florence. Sam Lambert & Shaka Maidoh, and Kalaf Epalanga Angelo came together as part of the ACF presents The Coal - the debut project from Art Comes First. This groundbreaking initiative united talented artists, craftsmen, and creatives under one vision, culminating in an exclusive installation at Pitti Uomo, the world's premier platform for men's clothing and accessory collections.
During this memorable gathering in Italy, a one-of-a-kind stitchbook was born, intertwining evocative photos and poignant poems to capture the essence of their partnership. As a testament to the enduring power of their friendship and artistic collaboration, they have come together once more to rewind the book. But this is no mere exercise in nostalgia.
Instead, the new edition pays homage to the original and adds new chapters documenting the incredible decade of creativity they experienced. At its core, the rewind stitch book stays true to the group's original ethos: to inspire and be inspired through friendship and the creation of unique, beautiful art objects that strike the perfect balance between innovative thinking and traditional manufacturing techniques.
