in New York, illegal jazz clubs of South African township in the 50’s.
FUSION
An early use of jazz was an anti-apartheid tool. Censorship was dramatically increased by the apartheid government, the beginning of dark times for the jazz community.
Nevertheless, jazz has played a vital part in South African culture since its roots. Cigarette butts, smokey rooms, velvet sofas... soul scenario, it’s the vibe of the collection.

The main focus of the collection its to blend tailoring with lounge wear / casual wear. But at the same time
giving birth to a new life, ACF introduces HEAVY METAL WORK which is a jewellery range as part of AVEC CES FRERES collection.

Includes washed denim, leather, nylon, jersey etc... experimenting on fabrics more in this range, with special laundry treatments such as washing, distress, dyeing etc... While still keeping a very ACF silhouette and details; there is a lot of re-interpretation of iconic house pieces such as rider jacket, bomber jackets, graphic tees mixing them with softer traditional tailoring pieces.
The sound of urban South Africa is often referred to as Township Jazz. It changed its basic form in the 1950s and early 1960s, however, and evolved into Mbaqanga.
This genre was created from Kwela, Marabi, and African and American Jazz.
Moving punk tailoring to a new feeling and much more cooler and relax silhouette, clean lines , simple with groove. This a comfy easy going vibe with touch of decadency, playing with fabrics such as satin twill, linen blend, pinstripe wool, satin helps to achieve that elegant jazzy sophisticated punk ACF look.
