BLACK SUPERMARKET
“Vintage isn’t meant to be cheap—it’s meant to last forever”
“A Commitment to preserving craftsmanship, honoring resources, and creating with intention.
Investing in what lasts, respecting what came before, and shaping a conscious future.”
BLACKSUPERMARKET is a conceptual space and sustainable fashion initiative curated by Art Comes First and Marché Noir, two visionary brands united by a commitment to heritage, innovation, and cultural storytelling. Together, they redefine vintage fashion as an investment in history and craftsmanship, transforming overlooked materials into timeless, wearable art.
Marché Noir Lomé–Paris preserves vintage and artisanal traditions, innovating techniques that bridge past and present. Art Comes First brings bold Black aesthetics and the precision of Savile Row tailoring, merging subcultural influence with sartorial mastery.
At the heart of the installation stands a stunning centerpiece designed by celebrated Ivorian artist Jean Servais Somian, crafted from coconut wood and echoing the fusion of tradition and contemporary design that defines BLACKSUPERMARKET. Sustainability is further reflected in the details: each piece is completed with thoughtfully crafted hangtags and labels by Avery Dennison, and the finishing touches of the collection are proudly realized in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
The permanent home of BLACKSUPERMARKET is Fondation Donwahi, Côte d’Ivoire’s foremost cultural hub for contemporary art — a serene, architectural space dedicated to fostering creativity and celebrating artistic excellence.
